Anonymous asked: what do you guys think about how Rory has nearly killed Amy in the Pandorica Opens? I know it wasn;t him, it was an auton, but still it bothers me how that wasn’t dealt with AT ALL

feministwhoniverse:

Personally, I didn’t have a problem with the way Auton!Rory killing Amy was handled. I’ve discussed it with a couple of other people and they are in agreement. One of the people, somekindofbecca, I spoke to with in regards to this ask said it excellently.

Hmm, I don’t find it problematic either. I mean, he wasn’t really Rory, he was an auton, and the part of him that was Rory did try to stop the auton part from killing her. The auton central control thingy (bad Whovian can’t remember what it was called) was moving his arm not him, so it was almost like if you were holding a gun then someone else picked up your arm and shot someone with it. You may have been holding the gun, but they put the pressure on your trigger finger. Idk, I don’t think he had full agency at that point.

They did sort of address it too. I mean, not explicitly, but I’m assuming part of the reason he guarded the Pandorica for 2,000 years was because he felt guilty for putting her in there.

Of course there are several different ways to interpret things and I’m not for a second saying that your interpretation isn’t valid. Perhaps you could elaborate on exactly what you found problematic, Nonny.

Hey look it’s my thoughts that I thought on feministwhoniverse! *grins* Also I’d really be interested to know what others think of this too?
